This game was hilariously bad. If it weren't for FF13, I'd say 10 was the worst. I'd comment on the bizarre things I've seen from 15, but I haven't and probably wont ever play it.

10 is literally one of the best. The fact that you used a meme picture from the one out of context scene that zoomers have seen tells me everything I need to know about you.

Have you ever seen The Wonder Years? It felt like some retarded Japanese interpretation of the west that would have been insulting if it weren't so funny. I'll bet you enjoyed 15 too didn't you.

Shitty game. Traded it for Chef's Luv Shack, kek. Had way more fun with it

>> No.7711913

Man I like both of those games but Chef’s Love Shack is a big downgrade from Toy Commander.
If you had given yourself a little time to get used to it you probably would have liked it.

I genuinely hate this game. 1 was relatively humble and fun, this one is bogged down by retarded anime crap, it plays itself, and is the only game I've ever dropped because there's too many cutscenes. I'm a huge MGS fan too.

What’d you hate about it? Did you play the nes version or the fds version?

>> No.7713407

You could even skip the cutscenes in this game, so that's really saying something. Having to kill bosses with the end of a combo made things incredibly annoying. Specifically fighting Yuffie.

Metroid on NES is genuinely a pain to play. Lack of diagonal aiming really hinders gameplay.

I disagree. The game was heavily anime-ized I will admit, it's a completely different game from the very magical feeling of the original. But the soundtrack, graphics, and gameplay were all stellar to me at the time, and it introduced some of the enduring questions we wanted answered in later games. I spent months watching the same video of some Japanese guy fighting Sephiroth before it came out, I had such high hopes for it and it was probably the last game I played that fulfilled them. KHII was so good, it made people buy like 10 fucking games waiting for the third installment (which was worse than KHII). But all that said, I respect that you like the first game, which is lost on most KH fans these days

Let me preface this by saying I do not think Super Metroid is a bad game. But I had heard so many people up this game's ass insisting it's the best on the system so I went in expecting a lot. It just didn't deliver as much as I thought it would. I certainly had a fun time playing it, but the controls felt very stiff compared to later games, and the gameplay was just good instead of great. It's a world better than the first game, I just don't feel it's nearly as good as everyone remembers.

>> No.7714805

>>7714791
Did you bother 200%ing it? I like SOTN and I'd still say Super Metroid was better.

I didn't, I don't even think I got all the upgrades since the game's map didn't mark off which upgrades you got. That's another frustrating thing about it which was understandable at the time since a map was still novel, but it's also another fruestration that didn't exist in later games which just totally eclipse it. As for SotN I think I'm too corrupted by nostalgia to really say but it's one of of my favorite PSX games and I think just about as close to perfect as a Castlevania can get.

Imagine only getting a few games per year. There was plenty of reason to replay this game. Did you know there are two secret areas on either side of the landing zone in planet Zebes? Little things like this kept me coming back.

>I disagree

Stopped reading

People who bought 1 were kids, and thought it was super deep and cool, they were teens when 2 came out and ate that slop right up. Looking back 2 only offered more confusion to what was already a barely understandable story and thought a shitton of useless mechanics would mask that up.

Well, it did. Till I stopped being a teen, replayed it, and found the game play in KHI to be objectively more fine tuned and balanced than in KHII

Not him, but I feel as though Super Metroid is a little more linear but also more focused. That along with the better designed boss fights of Super Metroid are the real differences, in my opinion.
I greatly prefer the atmosphere and music of SotN though, and I think in all it feels a little more grand and varied than Super Metroid.
I get why anyone would prefer Super Metroid, but I’d sooner pick up SotN.
