You mean like in Zelda? Despite the number of actions you can perform in Soul Blazer being less than the number of actions you can perform as Link, the combat is generally more interesting, being more about where you position yourself and memorizing enemy patterns, while in Zelda...sure theoretically you have a bow and arrows, a boomerang, a hookshot, bombs, etc at your disposal as well as your sword, it's really inconsequential and there's hardly any reason to use any of them for actual combat, and hardly any reason to actually kill enemies anyway since you can ignore most of them and you don't actually win anything from them. And then there is the case of magic, magic spells in Zelda are really not that useful save for a couple moments, while Soul Blazer does have quite a number of spells you likely won't use, there are still some enemies it's largely beneficial to use whatever your preferred spell is on for convenience, while this only really happens in Zelda like, once.

I'll give you the overworld thing sure, but despite there not being an overworld in Soul Blazer I feel the different worlds you move between are much more rich and have more character than the pretty bland environments of LTTP, and as for puzzles.....I guess you have a point but it's not like Zelda puzzles are actually difficult at all, but they certainly are there....

True but I'd say it and Zelda are both action/adventure games with RPG elements, different takes on the same genre, Zeldas only RPG element is really the exploration aspect while Soul Blazers is the level up system

Nothing was forced or tacked on. It's just a couple of people found the "nothing personnel kid" moments in Zelda and expressed their opinion. It's a natural evolution of the meme. It will probably continue evolving and if the Zelda puzzles prove themselves to be sticky they'll remain a separate branch just like there are still monkeys and fishes even though they evolved to humans.
