When you turn on a snes with no cartridge, does the screen go black like every other cartridge based system, or does your tv screen stay blue? Need to know for something I'm working on.

You're working on something related to the SNES, but you don't have a SNES use?

I do, I'm fixing it up. I'm not getting an image from any game i put into it, so im trying to see if it's a problem with the system itself or perhaps the cable

What? I’ve never seen that with an SNES, i only recall my VCR doing that as a kid (and maybe old DVD players?)

When it's turned on it disables rendering and outputs black until told otherwise.

I actually think I misunderstood due to being a zoomer who never used RF, I always had composite hookups on my TVs as a kid

Mine just boots to bios instead, no idea what the fuck you're on.

Does grey static look blue to you zoomers?

Can confirm it's black.
It outputs a sync signal.
