Obviously I don't expect the rules of this board to change, nor do I want them to. But for those of us who don't base our lives around rules on 4chan, will 6th Gen be considered "retro" once the PS4/Nextbox come out?
>This is not a discussion about 6th gen+ consoles. But rather is a discussion on what constitutes the definition of retro in popular society.
pic is hilarious, but unrelated.

no
also I always thought that pic was stupid
also the fact that you had to point out how hilarious it was makes me thing SUMMER

No.

>> No.769026

Why not? The 5th gen wasn't always retro either.

Well if I used a picture of a PS2/Xbox/Gamecube the thread would have been immediately deleted regardless of what the purpose was.
>getting mad because I added a few extra words
your post was not hilarious, but only slightly related.

6th gen on forward will probably get its own board far into the future. No reason to tack it on here.

when those consoles become 20ish years old, then they will be retro

Not asking to have it tacked on here, as I dont want it here, I'm only asking if popular culture will consider it retro. It's been 15 years since the first Sixth gen console. Kid's born when the dreamcast came out will be in late middleschool/early highschool.

All I know is, I'll be sitting on a shit ton of 6th+7th gen consoles by the end of the year
>all dem dirt cheap Xbox's and PS2/PS3's
I'll have a year to softmod them, and then sell them back when people realize this generation has no backwards compatibility.
