Ironically, having played RCT for so long, I can't make gentle-type/kiddie coasters like these anymore. When I do so, it's usually in 5-6 intensity range. They're both decent anon. I would make the wooden coaster's last turns tighter and add a small bunnyhop before returning to the station to boost excitement. You could surround it with food stalls and more gentle rides to create a kiddie zone for "less than 3" guests. Generally, 3 nausea is pushing it, so you'll want to have plenty of benches nearby.

I discovered this after Marcel's video on the half loops and corkscrews actually. Not sure anyone was aware of it earlier, but if they were they seem to have kept it to themselves, haven't come across the same information anywhere before or since. Also this sort of layout is pretty useless in terms of stats on most coaster types, only the mine train gets moderately exciting with 6 drops and a max speed of 31 mph.

I'd argue the art and sound design is what does it in. It looks way too sterile to me, like you're building a theme park in a hospital

>> No.7718815

For me it's the shop and worker management that does it for me, just a little bit to much management to juggle for me.

The sound design just isn't as good and the decorations require more effort to produce pleasant looking parks, probably because every texture is completely flat so you need to add more items for noise just to break the monotony.

Same. I can be a fucking autistic penny-pincher when it comes to spending money in general. I always want to pay off my loans asap and thin and stretch out my staff and patrols. I find the original scenarios from RCT1 to be enjoyable enough, so I suggest you start with those. Added Attractions has some good ones, Loopy Landscapes alright, RCT2 revives with good ones, and disregard the shitty expansion scenarios.

My strategy when I start every scenario:
>1. Pause the game
>2. Take a survey of what's provided in terms of rides, shops, loan amount/maximum, guest tolerance, etc. Set all rides to 10 minute inspections
>2.5 (if pay-per-ride, adjust tickets accordingly/if pay-to-enter, adjust park entrance fee)
>3. Look at staff patrols; see if I need to add anymore
>4. Set research to maximum; tick off everything but shops if the essentials are not available, ie. Info kiosks and toilets
>5. Start small with whatever gentle/thrill rides at your disposal. Unless a coaster doesn't already exist, build a moderate one with good throughput (i.e. shuttle loop/boomerang)

do you have any tips for the parks that are locked to paid entry only? these parks just never profit. i think those parks are the major turn-offs that made me not want to play RCT2 much.
trying to play extraterrestrial extravaganza was just suffering. it's also the ugliest park theming i've ever seen.

>parks that are locked to paid entry only?
Yeah, those are a bitch. Unfortunately, if you're playing OpenRCT, the original AA/LL expansion scenarios have lots of those, and my point is that they don't offer ATMs. ATMs are great because if a guest spends all their $90-110 at admission, they will go to an ATM if they're decently happy. Basically what you want to do is break down your park admission based on the priority of roller coasters down to gentle rides. For example:

How much should I charge admission?
>I have a park with 1 behemoth coaster (i.e. the size of Vertigo Views' hypercoaster), a smaller coaster, 3 thrill rides, and a carousel [gentle ride]
To unleash my inner Shlomo, it's only fair that I charge at least 15 dollars for a coaster if it's included in the park entry, because happy guests are guaranteed to ride them over and over again. Thrill rides I'll charge on the base of 5 dollars in the park entrance fee, and gentle the same, perhaps less. So based on these assumptions, I'd charge a starting entrance fee of $45; $50 if I want to push limits. Thankfully your announcements bar will tell you if people bitch that the fee is too high, so reduce it by $10. The goal is that you want to keep and keep building and raise your entrance fee to justify it. Just be sure to also invest in staff as well.

Try the Amity Airfields scenario. It's challenging and will push you to do this, and I guarantee you'll fail it on your first try. But if you have 2 hours to kill, do it as a lesson. My tip is to just lay down pre-builts for every coaster you have (don't forget to set research to maximum). Build them close and near each other, as you can stretch mechanics and their patrols to always keep them busy (10-minute inspections!)

Forgot to mention, >>7720248 links to a great resource in understanding game meta. Each ride has what Marcel calls a "guest cap" meaning every ride you build in your park will inherently guarantee a number of guests to come to your park. Obviously, coasters attract more, then thrill, then gentle. Don't forget to invest an advertising campaigns: even a two-week campaign for a ride or the park itself can give you returns on revenue.

When it rains, always ALWAYS bump your umbrella prices to 20 dollars, then back to reduced price when it stops raining. Guests will pay out the nose to stay dry, no matter their mood.

thanks. my problem right now is ride entry/concessions are just not enough to make up for the ride operational costs and paying staff. i'm stretching my staff super thing. can't even manage to make a grand/mo at the moment so i can't build a new ride. if i can manage to pay off this loan i'll probably dump this save and try a new park.

>>7720338
i was also trying to remember this. i recall testing it years and years ago and $19 seems to be a soft cap where even the most stubborn guest will pay for the umbrella. problem in my park now is i left it at $4 for too long now everyone already has an umbrella. i should try purging the guests. i don't really see an issue with just leaving it at $19 since having a guest complain it costs too much doesn't seem to have a penalty.

Transfer RCT1's scenarios into ORCT2 lol

Seriously though unless there's some trainer that does some weird voodoo magic to force it into borderless window I can't imagine you can. You definitely couldn't for the second game and I doubt it's any different for the first.
