Yep, that's a picture.

I strongly disagree.
It's two pictures, squashed into one

>> No.761937

Rotate it 90 degrees and do the magic eye thing with it.

>> No.762025

filter emulation or your work?

>> No.762035

Slightly too filtered for my taste. I think the problem is you wanted to keep it in the same size pixels as the original resolution rather than blending at a higher resolution.

I didn't really notice at first what I was suppose to be looking at, but, yeah, neat enough filter.

BG looks nicer
Everything else looks shittier/just unnoticable difference

Hah!

The first anti-dithering filter I've seen that's not complete shit.

>> No.763591

>>762347

Sounds perfect then

>> No.763608

I dunno, I get that it's anti-dithering but I don't think it's working right, it introduces a loss of detail and that can be unpreferable.

Maybe in motion it works better depending on what the dithering was used for, like translucency meshes.

This is why we have thrustmaster controllers.

Oh hey, that's my image.
I realized it was stupid to not have the comparison be side by side since I first posted that.

>>764114
I actually used a different shader, but it WAS posted in that thread.

I hope they figure out how to do this shit better sometime soon.
I want to play Star Fox with no dithering.

>> No.764646

The blurring looks really bad. It looks like the Reduce Noise filter on Photoshop or in the case of some of the text and characters it looks like really bad JPG compression. Especially on the OP screenshot

>> No.764680

>>763735

So that's where my vaseline went; it somehow got on this picture

>> No.764692

So is this a new filter or are they shopped? It would work well with the Saturn since it had no transparency effects.

>> No.764710

>>764692

Yes, it's a filter. Go here for it: >>764114

It's not the actual one used in this thread.

1.0 is very lightweight and works on several dithering patterns. Works on a lot of snes/genesis games. But not the checkerboard ones. So wont' work on Silent Hill that well.

I think current version is 1.5. It has layers to get rid of false postiives, so it's much more intense.

>> No.764726

>>764646
That's due to false positives. With a bit more work, it should leave the text alone while still blending actual dithering.

>> No.764828

ruining art with disgusting post processing? why don't you just go play modern games instead

>> No.764836

Has anybody made an emulator that lets you run filters on each layer individually yet?

Dithering usually looks like shit though, especially when it's trying to be transparency.

Not when viewed over composite. It's just that makes everything else look like shit.

This filter is the perfect middle-ground between raw emulation/rgb output and the usual vaseline smeared shit that shows up in filter threads.

Just needs to get better at ONLY targeting dithering.
