I want to play an action/adventure/rpg with at least a decent story. I have played all Infinity Engine games and Deus Ex.

Any suggestions?

Why? You play games for gameplay. If you want a good story, you should read a book.

Think about it. If you want to experience a story, why would you want gameplay to get in the way? It's just dumb.

Becuase I'm not in the mood for something like pong, a dungeoncrawler with no dialogue or a NES platformer.

Then you don't actually want a video game. Don't confuse your hobbies, ffs. I MEAN, by all means do, you won't be the first to do so, but that's counterproductive.

You are a fucking idiot if you honestly think gameplay is the only thing that is important to a game at all times. It's perfectly fine to expect multiple aspects of a game to be good.

It's fine if you can't appreciate anything other >muh gameplay, but don't confuse your own retarded opinions for fact.

Cinematic and literary storytelling techniques are detrimental to gameplay, because they are incompatible with interactivity.

I don't quite expect you to understand that, though.

Betrayal at Krondor - it has some of the best writing I've ever seen in a game

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines with Wesp's unofficial patch.

Arx Fatalis with the Arx Libertatis engine.

To be fair, endings where you can do stuff are the best endings ever.

Definitely not. I never said it was. All I said was that looking for games when you want a story first and foremost is counterproductive.

But the person is looking for games with story first and foremost, which if he found those kinds of games, he would have been productive. Also, he'd likely enjoy those games if that's what he's looking for.

he also later clarified that he didn't want something that either didn't have a story or had a shitty one, yet you still get this shit wrong and continue to whine. are you sitting home alone with nothing better to do or what's going on? how about you simply throw in a random title and move on? let's at least try to not make this board as shit as v.
