>go to latency on quick menu and set up lag to be reduced

>RA now refuses to load

This is the reason RA sucks, the random locks and crashes, even IF you do it ABSOLUTELY 100% RIGHT AND CORRECT, it only works when it feels like it!, just get the individual emulators forget about the shaders or use Re-shade if you are that much of a s.0.yboy faggot, and be done!

maybe because his controller pad is not recognized by the standalone emulator, that's another problem people have that makes them gravitate towards RA, many emulators give them issues with certain controllers, or some of them will flat out NOT read them at all, for example the Wii Classic Controllers are not recognized by most standalone emulators like Final Burn Neo.

Set up a universal ROM folder with each system rom folders and their bios if needed and another for each individual emulator, make a shortcut folder to them, and that's it, you need to use the mouse to load your files sure and i believe its the shaders what cast a lovespell to people into using retroarch, because in fairness, plain old normal emulator scanlines are dogshit along with super eagle and such, and i dont think reshade works for individual emulators.

TLDR but in short, Retroarch sucks because:

The dolphin core for RA is just bad and never should have been brought to RA. Just play Dolphin standalone. RA is fucking great for a lot of cores, but dolphin, mame, and a few others are not that good for how it's set up.

Retroarch is piss-easy to configure. I have NEVER had a problem with it.
You really shouldn't be emulating anything dreamcast and beyond on Retroarch. It will be a little while still until those cores are optimized.
Dreamcast/GC/PS2 should be emulated in stand-alones.

eh, RetroArch has 'lost' my rom path multiple times, despite the fact that the folder has never been moved or renamed. fucking annoying having to 'find' the path a second time through. also, importing new games could be less of a pain in the ass. scanning is fucked more often than not.
