i was/am a segafag i didnt play much of my friends gameboys but the wario games i remember liking a lot and gameboy tetris is probably my favorite version. theres a final fantasy game on there that was pretty good too

It works with el cheapo SD, but that setup has a hard time handling larger cart games. I find it is unstable with games such as Wario Land 2. It also works with ez flash Jr, but I find there the problem is that the way ez flash Jr works is such that the game doesn't get correctly recognized as a super gb title, so anything with a special border or extended features doesn't work correctly.

Definitely check out Donkey Kong on the Super Gameboy. Other than that Super Mario Land, Links Awakening, Metroid 2, Kirby's Dream Land. Can't really think of 3rd party stuff though.

Can confirm my Everdrive GB x7 works with it.

Be sure to play Super Mario Land 2: Golden Coins and SML3: Wario Land at the very least.
SML1 and the other Wario titles kind of suck but those two are amazing.

If you're a poorfag like me and got an Everdrive X3 though, you need to be extra careful when pushing the button in the cart to reset and save data, because you can easily jiggle the cart loose by accident.
