'90s was the best era for parody/comical shmup. Parodius series, Space Invaders '95, Star Parodia, Gunbare The Game Paradise series...And after '90s? The only good comical shmup I've played is Trouble Witches Neo and despite being a great game it doesn't have the wackiness of the other games I've mentioned and it focuses more on moe (which personally I don't mind but it's a huge turn-off for many other traditional shmup maniacs).

Any other recommended retro comical/parody shmup?

Even thought not 100% comical shmups, the endings at games like Gubird series and Sengoku Ace series are priceless. Also the mobile phone version of Gunbird is surprisingly good. If you want the jar file just say the word and I'll upload it for you.
