Post about any sidescroller you're playing, you recommend, or are interested in trying out.
Today's question(s):
>How many buttons do you like your sidescrollers to have? How many do you think a good sidescroller needs?

Rockman Zero 4. Already played through in English a bunch, just trying to pick up some Japanese.
>recommend
Series-wise, Kirby, Kunio-kun, Metroid, Castlevania. Games, MMZ3/4, Super Metroid. I'll post more later.

Depends on genre of course, but I'd say at least d-pad and A/B. That said
>How many do you think a good sidescroller needs?
Having dodge on L is always helpful, whether its dash or backstep.

Chōmakaimura aka Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts.

>In 1997 Electronic Gaming Monthly listed the SNES version as the 22nd best console video game of all time, calling it "One of the most graphically intense side-scrolling action games the Super NES has ever seen. Also one of the hardest."
I don't really like hard games but this one is really charming and fun to progress through.

I should mention there's a hacked "restoration" version that removes all the slowdown and makes it really smooth, if that bothers you. It also restores the crosses on coffins (Stage 1), and some of the demon names, that were censored from US version.

I didn't like this game.

capcom's console division has developed an excellent Mega Man X game and dozens of other mediocre games, super gng is one of them.
