Who /Chrono Trigger/ here?

Even after thousands of hours put into the game,

And playing through it on every port it has been, including emulators...

I got to say, I am always learning something new about the game all the time.

How about we get another Chrono Trigger thread, and talk about one of the greatest games ever?

Discuss anything, secrets, what you like about the game..whatever.

<lame Game Genie secrets for SNES version>

Some awesome game-breaking can be had with this walk-through-walls code:
>0B60-7FA4
You can go to pic-related in Truce Inn. You can go to the Black Omen 4 times. You can play many parts of the game single-character by exiting Lucca's after she saves her mom (but may parts of the game will freeze when multiple players are expected, like boarding Epoch).

Also, these crude walk-anywhere-on-map codes can do some silly sequence breaking, like having Magus fight himself, or having Robo rescue himself.
>BC38-8F06
>BC18-8F06 (alt)
But, they are very weird, and you can easily get stuck. Suggest savestating/rewinding with emulator, and turning them off/on a lot.

I was pretty stoked when someone posted some no clipping codes years ago (the first ones were single direction, one for up, one for left, IIRC). I went to every shop and inn in the game looking for chests that could be opened. Most could not, some were empty, only that one had anything in it. Annoyingly, it was one of the first places I checked, rather than the last! The rest were all disappointments.

For those of you who want to know how to get a lot of
>Power Tabs

You can charm them off a monster in the Black Omen called "Tubster"

When you walk into this room, he comes out of a magical whirlpool thing, and the battle commences.

Charm the tab and destroy him

Then leave the room where you came from, and when you go back, you will have to fight him again

You can repeat this process as many times as you want to get unlimited Power Tabs

No, even before it does LOCK you can't do squat other than attack.

You should New Game+ until you get everyone to Lvl. (99) and Speed/Magic/Power up to (16). I believe it takes three play-throughs (NG+) at lease up to the Black Omen to get enough Speed Tabs (charming the Panels each time). The Panels don't re-appear in a second play-through of the Black Omen, annoyingly. Only on a New Game +. I could give you a .srm file if you want.

I think I would just check out from life, and await the release day from that point on.

meh, no guarantee it would be any good
the problem with riving an old "series" is how conservative you should be
If they link it directly to Trigger it would feel like a re(make|hash)
Maybe they could remake Radical Dreamers

Also, is that trademark still registered? Why did square have to send Chrono Resurrection a NDA.

Wiz is alright, his beats are great and his flow is tight, but his lyrics are just so typical. I'm tired of songs about bitches, airplanes and money. Shit is boring. Compare it to this shit by Mega-Ran: http://youtu.be/RbHdJBM_r3s

To this day, Chrono Trigger remains my most favorite game of all time. I also love listening to the Ost and any remixes/tributes made to it. 600AD, At the bottom of the night, Battle with Magus, to good friends, wings that cross time, to far away times, world revolution, yearning of the wind, Sara's Etude.
I whistle that shit all the time.

Why does everyone love Magus so much?
>low damage
>all triple techs are kinda bad and a waste of actions.
>Lack of true single target Tech can be a hinderance on some fights

Just curious. He is a great character. Just a bad party member.

POWER RANKINGS
>Robo (Complete character)
>Ayla (High damage/charm and best duo's)
>Marle (Haste)
>Frog
>Chrono
>Magus
>Lucca

That said, any party comp works fine. No one is gimp and its personal preference. Another reason this game is awesome. This is also one of my favorite games ever.

Duo Techs + Single attack are higher output. Theres very few fights where spamming screen wide Triple Techs is even a little useful. Also wastes an Accessory slot for the Blue Gemstone.

Marle/Ayla + anyone (i like Robo)

Hasted party with Cube Toss, Ice Tackle, Triple Kick and Heal/Charm available for life. This is assuming you play with Active Timer Bars.

This is honestly one reason why I'd love to see someone ram the DS translation into the SNES game. The DS translation is far better but it actually suffers a little from being on the DS.

Yeah, you generally want to stay clear from Square's ports to mobile and stick to the emulators. It's one of the few cases where they strive to be shittier than what you can already play.

That's an interesting song to give a shout out to.

Honestly, it's a pretty important song to the game, since it is played in many different scenes. It's also pretty decent, so maybe we don't give it the credit it deserves.

I feel like they play that song in at least one place in every time period haha

>> No.757787

Both are found only once per game but Gold Stud is Charm'd from Flyclops on the Black Omen. I feel theyre kinda pointless since mana restoring items are not hard to come by and you can Charm-farm Mega Elixirs from Hydraconda in the Black Omen. There are also quite a few enemies you can Charm Elixirs and Turbo/Hi-Ethers.

>Play with Ayla level 72/96 Beast mode.

Anyone here ever do an ALL CAT FOOD run?

After every accomplishment, no matter how trivial, go back to the fair to win more cat food.

Each time, visit your home to see how many cats have overrun the place.
