Pokemon had more of these than any game. The ways to get Pokemon in the actual games are usually pretty straightforward compared to these rumours.

I remember there were websites full of so-called "PokeGods" which were hyper detailed things like picrel which didn't even try to match the tone or artstyle of Pokemon, and the way to catch them was always some bullshit like
>Use the Cinnabar Pokemon Centre
>Make sure you only have Dragonite and Raichu in your party
>Leave and walk 50 steps left, 500 steps North
>Fly to Lavender Town
>Fly to Viridian City and walk to Bill's house to go to his secret garden

I kinda miss that feeling of wonder fueled by a lack of understanding.

I remember playing GTA III and going crazy when I found out you could see the fake street used for the opening scene if you stared at the mountains with a zoomed in sniper rifle.

Then in the PC version I downloaded the mod somebody made where he added a bunch of colliders so you could walk around on the street. Same with visiting the Rooftop garden. Still blows my mind. I don't give a fuck about games the way I used to.

I always loved out of bounds glitches in games for this reason. A good amount of games actually did have things to explore out of bounds, more often than not just background elements but it was still cool seeing them up close. Even as an adult I still enjoy that sort of thing, I remember when the NieR Automata demo came out you could glitch out of the starting level and explore small parts of the severely unfinished main city. Most of it didn't have collision and a ton of it wasn't even textured, but there was enough for it to be exciting to see. I've also been trying to get out of bounds in Sonic Jam's sandbox, there's nothing outside of the playable area aside from a weird texture and endless fields but I'm still curious enough to keep trying at it. A shame that the glitch is so hard to pull off

>I was 100% convinced that if I could somehow break out of bounds of the map there would be a whole open world area twice as big as the main game with towns and shit,
In Red/Blue, you can use the gameshark to get an item that lets you walk through walls. You can walk out of bounds, but there's nothing to do there until you wander into a town. The town will appear glitched because you used the wrong entrance, but otherwise it's normal. Fun!

OG WoW was good for this kind of thing.
if you managed to walljump your way into out of bounds areas there was actually some cool stuff for you to find.

like pic related, an "under construction" barrier in one of the inaccessible zones, iirc there was also a sign on top of a high mountain that is not supposed to be accessible that said something like "how did you get here?"

also a bunch of unfinished content you could find like scrapped older versions of the game's cities, a creepy dungeon full of dead bodies hanging from chains. There was also GM island, a mythical island that only GMs had access to. it was later confirmed to exist but it was impossible for a player character to get there.

it being an MMO made it even more fun because you could actually take other people to these weird places you'd found and show them too.

Play all consoles, mate. Don't limit yourself from playing good games because of a branding war. Even though Nintendo fans are so incredibly stupid that they are willing to pay full price for a remaster, there are still many good games on their systems. Same goes with Sega. The biggest fans of both companies are equally retarded. You just have to pick up and choose from the best titles on each system to get the best experience.

Encountering Kaseidramon is a near-impossible glitch, and not meant to be accessible at all during normal game play. Whenever you encounter a Digimon while moving along in one-player mode, a rare glitch can occur that confuses the game. The programmers originally designed the game in such a way that if there is any fatal malfunction while entering a fight, instead of freezing the game it would automatically transport you to an unbeatable fight with Kaseidramon, who will usually just defeat you with a move or two, then return you to the title screen. Use of this function was removed for some unknown reason, but it still remains in the game and occasionally a glitch will trigger it. The fight with Kaseidramon is meant to be swift so that you can return to normal game play. A strike with his Zantetsuken sword is usually an instant knock-out. The One-Hit Kill rule cheat does not work on him, and he cannot be unlocked.

I don't remember all the details, but a friend once told me something to the effect of, in Lost Levels on Super Mario All Stars, there was a secret pipe somewhere that led to an NPC with some kind of unclear design as to what it was supposed to be, my friend said it looked like a hamburger, and the NPC would ask you to kill him or something and I can't remember after that.

Lost Levels was full of weird shit and I never made it past world 2 so I kinda had no reason to doubt him. Later on I figured he was making shit up based on Monster Party for NES.

Nude cheat in Tomb Raider games

>First position Lara EXACTLY north, ...

Though didn't spend much time with it either.
Tried it once, then after figuring out that you can position Lara exactly by climbing up a block or ledge (which are usually oriented in the 4 main directions so find a north one and it is exact) tried it again, didn't work, "huh I guess it doesn't work" and went on.
The trolling was obviously based on that "position her exactly" thing, so that people could never be sure if they fulfilled that requirement so they would try again and again, but they didn't take the climbing into account, hah.
