Why does this collection make /vr/ seethe? I think it’s a good way to replay the first 3 games and Wily Tower is nice.

People get upsetti over the sound quality of the Genesis a lot. There also are some people who will seethe hard over it "feeling different" which I never got.

That being said I do prefer the art style of the NES games slighty. I would play 1 and 2 on there, and 3 here since the frame rate on 3 can be ass.

Big Mega Man fan here, and I think Wily Wars gets hate for a reason. Sure the graphics look nice most of the time but the bossfights behave differently, the music is worse, and there is way more lag than the NES titles which is unbelievable. Wily Tower is the only reason to play through the ports.

Just use the patch that adds Wily Tower to the main menu so you don't have to play these poor ports and play the only part that matters.

I played this a lot in my console arcade in the 90s. I would play the NES versions at home and seeing the same levels with better graphics was impressive. And three games in one?! Not to mention three new bosses, which I actually never seen myself. I believe you fight against them after beating all three games? I need to replay it, thanks OP.

Wily Tower was good, and the versions here are playable (though with some slowdown not even the NES saw) but other than that, it just feels like weaker versions of the original.
