Drawfaggot here.

I want to remake the assets of NES games for a 1080 fake "remake".
The goal is to practice pixel art and 2D art as well have a portfolio of stuff to later get a job.

If some programmer later reused the assets and remake the NES game in 1080, that would also a nice bonus.

Will /vr/ be interested?
My first goal would be the NES popeye game.

I heard a long time ago when you do pixel art the less detail the better

>>7413094
the goal is less pixel art and more normal 2D HD games.

I recommend that you start learning skeletal animation as this is the current industry standard. Pixel art is only used by small independent companies.

This is the best advice I can give you. for more than 20 or 30 years, the industry prefers skeletal animation because it is more suitable than pixel art

When you say 1080, do you mean 1080p? Like HD pixel art? Cause that's not reeeally a thing, unless you mean like 16 bit pixel art, or like an enhanced pixel art style like Octopatch Traveler.

upscaling the NES resolution to 1080 then simply redrawing the assets to those sizes.

Use the arcade originals graphics, they are in twice the resolution.

No low res pixel art if that's your question.

So you just want to the sprites to look exactly the same but bigger? Just resize them with any image editor. No need to redraw.

Hi. Mesen has support for HD packs. You can draw and insert high res graphics over existing NES games. It has a building tool. Might be fun to make one

is this bait? popeye's is based on a cartoon character. if it's 1080p then you'd just learn to draw the cartoon characters

Nothing to see here folks, this is all bait.
