Is RGB modding a N64 going to improve video output on a CRT?

>> No.7407786

No.

>> No.7407816

>>7407779
Yes.

>> No.7407817

>>7407779
Maybe

>> No.7407825

>>7407779
All of the above.

>> No.7407858

>>7407779
No, you'll still be playing a garbage game.

>> No.7407864

Non-binary.

>> No.7407884

>>7407779
Of course it does as long as the CRT takes RGB input.

>> No.7407945

>>7407779
maybe but it absolutely will not improve the quality of the games so it's basically a waste of time and money.

>> No.7407953

>>7407786
*The improvement will be so minute on a CRT that it'll be hard to discern from composite, depending on the model of CRT and the game in question. So that's why I say "No."

>> No.7407964

>>7407779
barely any improvement. n64 has comically bad rgb and s-video, barely looks better than composite.

If that one guy ever finished his de-blur RGB mod then provisionally yes, otherwise no.

>> No.7408191

>>7407779
Yes but not by much. The N64's output is gimped by its built in anti aliasing blur.

>> No.7409904

>>7408191
RGB modding will at least allow OP to turn off one of the 2 blur filters

>> No.7410069

>>7407779
What do you mean? It allows you to use RGB cables, so yes. Whether that improvement over s-video is enough to warrant the mod is up to you. Assuming you have a compatible N64, the "normal" mods are cheap and easy to install. I think it cost me like 5-10 bucks and they're braindead simple.

I honestly just go with s-video for anything n64/ps1 and before. The slight picture diffrences is not worth the extra cost and headache.
