literally the only (ONLY) good password system is Metroid 1 and that's because the password screen is insane nonsense that initializes code from the text and not just predefined set points to continue from.

I gave up on spellcaster on master system and gargoyles quest on gameboy because of the hard to write down passwords. I had populous on master system and entered it in wrong one day and it sent me 1000 levels forward. Castlevania 4 was not bad and other games usually had 5 letter passwords or they would spell out words. The classic wonder 3 with its cheat password west 0ne or something like that.

I can understand not having a save battery in the cart, but no password? Are you fucking joking? How can you have a long as fuck game like that where you have to beat it all in one sitting? When I was a kid, I think to actually beat the game legitimately, I had to keep the console running over the course of two nights.

>b-b-but there's the warp whistle!
fuck you, I'm talking about beating the game legitimately, not using the secret in-game cheat code.

The warp whistles are the fucking save system you idiot. Are you incapable of exercising any sort of self control to stop yourself from using every warp whistle instead of the one that takes you closest to where you left off?
That bring said yeah it's a dumb system to begin with, and being frustrated that that's all you have is legitimate, but calling it cheating is pants-on-head retarded.

Why not? As long as you're not using obvious cheats, secrets are fair game. Atlantis no Nazo is entirely build on using warps (it's hilarious garbage).
