What exactly is inherently wrong with adding elements such as dialogue, text, and store/upgrade systems to shooters? If the point of a shooter is to generate meaning for the player, would not adding progression elements like a simple story, an upgrade path, an NPC companion that talks to you, and so on, allow more meaning?

The fuck is up with Life Force's controls?

It's supposed to be A Button to select power up and B button to fire isn't it? Both buttons seem to do both though, and I just have to hold one down to fire slowly until the selection is on a power up I want, then I let go of the button and press it again to select the power and can once again rapid fire by mashing.

I don't know what the fuck is up with this cause I've checked my hardware with other games and it's fine, but "A to select power, B to fire" are the controls I'm seeing everywhere online and the game just doesn't match that.

I only found out there was a second pocky and rocky a few months ago, but I’m surprised how fun it was and how much it added on top of what was in the first game. Definitely not the most balanced cast, but having a bunch of characters at all is fun on its own.

Didn’t know there was gonna be a third one til this thread. Im not expecting anything mindblowing but my expectations are still optimistic, it doesnt need to be much more than a quaint fun game to be a good entry. Looking forward to it.

Technically, this would be the fifth one. First was the arcade game Kiki Kaikai, then that was expanded and localized into Pocky & Rocky for SNES, which itself got a sequel for the same console. Then there was the GBA game which was more based on the original arcade game, and now we're getting this which seems to be at least a partial remake of the first SNES game.

I really hope we get some new info on this soon.

If it's executed well it adds some variety and spice to what would be a very dry and predictable rinse-repeat gameplay loop that once memorized feels the same everytime without any excitement or joy and the only players that stick around have diagnosed autism and life issues where repeating the same exact thing every day is a form of coping and escaping reality (under the false pretense of doing skill-based challenges) see >>7387209
