Name any game that is better in the piracy genre?

You get 6 different campaings, you get stock markets, you get trading, you get sailing, you get mystical adventures, you have so much freedom!

Its a better game than sid meiers pirates (the original and the "new" one), specially plot wise.

How can post 2004 pirate games even compete? Sid Meiers pirates was literally the last great piracy game, and saddly its as good as New Horizons, its emptier.

But all the characters aren't pirates.

That being said, the pirate girl is best girl. Best character period.

You can still play them as a pirate, technically in sid meiers pirates most of the game you play as a privateer, unless you want every country to chase you to your doom

One of the best SNES games imo. I own the cart and play all the time

First off, the PC version is better. The best pirate game is Pirates of the Carribean: New Horizons.

I remember watching pirate fights so I could swoop in and board a disabled pirate Kestrel. Legendary game.

Game is easy as fuck, having a big crew is useless, most times you can get money easy peasy just stealing from spaniards, selling in the west bahamas between 2 cities constantly and banging every woman in the region to find the temples

Are you the dude that asked for boat games here a few weeks ago? If so, It's good to see that you liked my recommendation, it's indeed an amazing game. I've beaten Otto and Ali's story modes, Otto definitely has the most difficult campaign.

Play the original, it's inferior but since you already played New Horizons, you'll not have much trouble figuring out how the mechanics work, which seems to a major problem for people that begin with the original, also it's still interesting to see the roots of the series, it has a lot of charm and like II you can play at your own pace and go on about the jorney however you want.

I like NES version the most for that 8-bit charm and because it doesn't have those NPCs hanging around the port that can block your way, Genesis version is a close second, it still has those NPCs but the town map is slightly bigger and sailing is faster which goes a long way if you just want to beat the story, SNES has polished graphics and better sound than the previous two, as expected, but it's not as fast as Genesis version while also having the NPCs hanging in the port and a smaller town map. If those things don't bother you and you want to play the version that looks and sounds better, go for SNES.
Never played PC versions of Uncharted Waters I and II since the only differences are looks and interface and I like the charm of the simple graphics in the console versions and their user interfaces are also good enough as well.

This is town map in SNES version.

And this is the Genesis town map, notice that you have more walking space to go around these NPCs, it makes a difference after a while.

Tips, use a sloop, use the shots that destroy crew (grape shot) until enemy crew is like, down to 30's or lower
then board, and sell ships in friendly ports for a quick easy early grind

Well, the original is too, but that's just how the games are meant to be. If you know what you're doing you can rush and beat them rather quickly, but I think these games are supposed to be enjoyed at a slow pace.

I had forgotten to mention that in the original you play as the father of João Franco.

the thing I really hate about sid meier's is how it feels more like a roguelite where you need to divvy the gold every so often. or maybe I was just playing it wrong.
