Not sure if obscure but...

Loved this game. You play as an avenging ghost who has to scare a family out of their various million dollar houses. You do it by rigging scare traps or possessing objects or even family members. It's great and I wish there were more games like it.

You can haunt the family toilet as a goblinoid creature and hurl a barrage of feces at your intended victim. I'm not even kidding, its glorious abandonment.

Any other ghost-themed games out there for me to try?

I've been toying with using the WHDLoaded versions to try to do something similar myself since Cannon Fodder, the Alien Breeds and a few others best played on the Miggy have cropped up here and had a bunch of interest but Amiga emulation always seems to be a bit of a hurdle for people not familiar with the system.

It'd be nice to be able to say "Here, just run this!" rather than having to recommend inferior DOS versions just because they're so much easier for most people to run.

Hmm. I know good few Amiga FPS titles but I'm struggling to come up with any that don't have you facing enemies pretty quickly.

Are we talking a 'modern' shooter or just something that happened to be viewed from first person? If it's the former then this list might jog some memories: http://www.lemonamiga.com/games/list.php?&list_genre=Shoot%27em%20Up&list_sub_genre=First-person%203D&lineoffset=0

If it's the latter that throws it open to a whooooole lot more games. Any more detail or is it lost in the fog of time?

Bozo's Night Out.
You play a drunk, and the gameplay simply involves getting home from the pub every night. You can fall down manholes, get arrested, beating up or fucked up by psychedelic plants.

Every night you successfully reach your home, you gain a few more pints, which makes you drunker and makes the gameplay more difficult the next night. You start to lose control of the character, you character changes color and you start seeing pink elephants.
If you win the game, you die of liver failure.

Grandma wrote novels on an old MS-DOS machine in Word Perfect. I got to play on the computer when I visited. Also had Jill-of-the-Jungle, but I think Xargon was the better game. However no one else seems to remember the damned thing, only Jazz-Jackrabbit, Jill, Keen etc.

Nice action-RPG, spin-off from the Dragon Buster series. Got overshadowed by all the Square RPG's at the time but worth playing if you can track it down for cheap. Can be jarring because the game jumps through time to different characters.

The Incredible Laboratory on C64. Fun edutainment game where you mix chemicals to create a monster, then try to identify which chemical was responsible for which element of the monster.

Cybermage: Darklight Awakening.
A Doom-clone, but fantastically done Cyberpunk/Superhero-esque. You wake up in a tube, load up on guns and special pseudo-magic powers, and the story plays out like a neo-scifi-future/occult-related comic-book, as you try to figure out how you got these cyber-implants and magic powers.

Dungeon Hack, which had no real plot other than "Hey, adventurer, go to a really deep randomly-generated dungeon for me", but you could customize a 2nd edition D&D character and customize the random dungeon, with monsters, traps, keys, tons of items/spells. Endless replay value.
