On topic - it's definitely worth it to play the console but whether you're getting good value in the American market is questionable since I've heard pre-covid N64s used to go for $30-$60. I know it's boring but if you pay attention to second-hand sites you can get deals. I picked up a (backup) N64 without cables for €25 about two years ago, and N64s are more expensive in europe.

I'd personally be ok with buying for that price, but it's a personal preference. It also seriously depends on how much of a stickler you are for the authentic experience. The N64 controller has a reputation for being a piece of shit and personally, I'm not losing sleep at night when I play N64 games on an emulator with an Xbone controller

You haven't even explained why you hate emulation. Maybe if you try communicating an opinion with reasoning of some sort you'd end up with understanding instead of emotional damage.
It's pretty simple for me though. I actually lived through a long span of time where physical systems were the only option and I recognize emulation as the ridiculously magical innovation that it is. Every game imaginable instantly there with zero effort and zero expense on any of the major systems. I don't get you at all if that's not a good thing in your mind, unless you're a young person trying to fit in by having a nonsense preference for needless physical limitations like that makes the game more "authentic" somehow.
