Yeah im thinking I need to finish this game finally. Fizzled out around the start of disc 2. Also does anyone have tips on gitting gud?

If you doubled the texture resolution on some of these shots, they would easily pass for a an early PS2 game.

which was also originally going to be a late ps1 game, considering how poorly optimized it was on ps2 probably would have been a disaster.

Why would you need to get gud? The games not hard, atleast not on normal.
As for general tips: dont bother with mirv missiles, they might seem neat but often times just suck. Ground missiles often have weird behaviour too. Stick to normal and short-range missiles and spread bombs.
Also if you do the mission "self awareness" be sure to fly low to the ground, between the buildings and under the highways, otherwise youll get melted.

Looks more like particles than stars. And judging by how they appear on top of Earth instead, it seems it's the background that's the transparent one.

There's a timelessness to people being impressed by the PS1. I think it's because all their lives they were told the N64 was more powerful, and on paper it looks to be the truth, and yet every time the little grey station knocks that delusion away.

You people need to play more PS1 games.

the n64 is clearly more powerful, but it was annoying to program, used cartridges, and was released late, so there's only a handful of games that really pull off anything close to 100% of it's potential

It's not stars, it's dust/debris that is used to give you a sense of how fast you're going in that mission, it's disorienting enough by itself.

Don't wait for someone to get a missile lock on you to evade. Since everything is so heavy it's incredibly hard to evade missiles unlike the later games. Make a separate save at each decision point or else you have to play the whole game over and over and you don't even get more planes to use.
