Okami, katamari damacy and gitaroo man if you like artsy happy games

SotC is a must i think, but that doesn't mean you will like it, just that you should try it.

Jrpgs are many, but honestly i don't think they were as good as the psx ones.

he best part of those ace combat games is how you can listen in on the enemy radio traffic and it starts off just shit talking you but they eventually gain more respect and later fear you as an unstoppable ace, also remains to this day the only time ive cried at a game, I saluted the screen as my longtime wingman had to ditch at the end, lip wobbling and eyes filling, i did not expect that from my flying game

Via emulation the differences might not be so severe but off the bat: image quality, missing effects (the overlays on path selection, heat-haze style warping on smiles), framerate, and loadtimes. I don't think the PS2 rendered cutscenes in real-time either, RE4-style, so actually that would suck if you're emulating too.

Why are there are a mix of US, JP and EU covers in this image? Why are there the JP covers for Siren, Siren 2 & Nocturne when these games were localised? It's a mess. And it's not that the best-looking covers were chosen, since there's that terrible US RE4 cover.

I don't see this talked about too much but I actually really liked it and go back to replay it occasionally. The gameplay is decent enough for a hack and slash and I like that the music was incorporated into the gameplay for some rhythm sections.
