Why do you niggers pretend this was even a thing apart from some menus in PSX?
The games were progressive scan 240p not 240i you dumb niggers.

And you can simulate interlaced just fine with shaders but it won't look as good on a sample and hold display.
There's nothing stopping LCD's or OLED's from displaying interlaced natively either, manufacturers just typically don't include that feature because it means you lost half the brightness and LCD's and OLED's don't get bright enough to begin with(relatively speaking compared to a CRT's phosphor shining at 5000 nits and the Electron Gun being 100K nits)

I call bullshit or the display got replaced.
Arcade Cabs used low TVL shadow mask with a coarse pitch and they overdrove the current to make the displays brighter which would cause noticeable blooming and consequently make the scanlines even more unnoticeable.

CRT shaders just can't quite do it for me. Royale looks pretty awesome but there's still an uncanny valley effect in knowing that it's really on a flat LCD screen. This also makes it unsatisfying knowing that being on an LCD means you inherently don't get other benefits of CRTs that shaders can't approximate, such as real black levels, no motion blur, and no input lag. Instead I go for NTSC shaders to at least approximate what it would look like to plug one of those consoles directly into my monitor. This way you can still get a lot of the originally intended look without experiencing a half-complete version of the CRT experience.

That Spider-Man 2 poster is just one year newer than the Matrix Reloaded posted next to it. Plenty of people were still using CRTs in 2004 and I guess it would be reasonable to have some old consoles hooked up, though a PS2 would have been far more likely by then.
If anything is out of place it's that Death Note poster, which pushes the date up to 2006/2007.

doom, as a 320x200 game, it's automatically quadrupled in resolution (640x400) before being displayed so the monitor can sync the image (320x200@70hz it's too low), as a result you get scanlines in between pixels.
