At the very least SaGa Frontier has a significantly broader appeal and I noticed many more than usual like that one.

So, I was going to play Breath of fire III and IV starting tomorrow, but to be honest, I never finished the first two games. Should I go back to them? I played them a bit when I was a kid as my cousin had them, but they always seemed inferior to the other RPGs out at the time. My cousin really seemed to like them though.

Odd side-note: I actually played in a paper and pencil RPG campaign whose world was based on the Breath of Fire games.

Evermore was awful because EVERY DAMN TIME you got a new weapon you had to skill the stupid thing up. But even if you did, when you get the fucking bazooka at the end, it's a moot point cause that thing's better than everything. The magic was broken, there were a few spells that just overshadowed everything else, and they were tedious to make and/or find to begin with. The whole thing was just Tedium: The Video Game.

BoF III is mind numbingly boring at times and the translation is absolute garbage, it takes a REALLY long time for the game to get going and it moves at a snails pace in the meantime.

I think 5/10 is a good score frankly, it just wasn't very good.

it's a detective adventure, not much gameplay-wise (kinda like VN you know) but there is never enough games where you play as detective
nothing groundbreaking really, but I just enjoyed its atmosphere and since it never came out officially outside of Japan I'd say it's pretty underrated
