Was Gamecube Wave Racer better/equal? I hardly remember it but the water physics were pretty good weren't they (in the GC sequel)?

I know that one isn't it.

It was garbage in comparison

I wouldn't call it one of the best games ever made but it's an incredibly solid jetski racing game with an amazing water engine for a N64 game and sublime music.

I know that the mirrored version of Glacier Coast is forever filtering me out of 100%ing it. Fuck whoever designed that course.

It's hard to understand how they managed to fuck it up. All I want is exactly the same thing with a better framerate, and to this day I still don't have it.

its super short, admitedly pretty and controls well but gets boring fast, the whole gimmick was how good the water looked but not much else to say. It was fun at parties, i remember playing this at a rich cousin's house on a bigass crt with most of the family's kids.

Competent release title, i think most people had it only because of that, it was one of the top three games people got along with the console the first year it released.

It wasn't a bad game at all, but it was generally considered to be an inferior game to Wave Race 64. Blue Storm had good-ish water physics at the time, but they still wasn't as impressive as when Wave Race first released on the N64. The water in that was unlike anything before it. I remember being disappointed with Blue Storm, especially with how the water just wasn't enough of an improvement over the original considering the significant difference in hardware.

Anyone wanna try playing Blue Storm via Parsec? Never tried it out. Probably will be a disaster.

UK/EU for better connection.

Every time I see anything about this game and I get this summer vibe feel

its an amazing feeling

I just recently replayed it after I dont remember how many years since the last time. I was amazed at the fact I couldnt beat any of the Time Trials records I set as a teenager. I dont remember being particularly good at the game and as far as I can tell Im doing the tracks as fast as possible, but my records from back then are still more than a couple seconds faster.
Sadly, my N64 controllers analog sticks are too busted to perform any of the tricks, I can sometimes do the flip/handstand, but barrel rolls are impossible.
Still got a lot of fun out of bullying the fat guy AI in Championship mode.
Great game.

Ultimate vibe. Best wave look and feeling of any. Bluestorm is to me not at all connected in style but as it's own game is a classic.

The lead manager at Nintendo Takahashi worked on this game back then and he's teased a return to Wave Race. I doubt he's really being swrious about it but what would you guys want in a new Wave Race?

>> No.7321645

>>7321593
A return to the color scheme/ art style of 64
Maybe move from 4 to 6 (or 8) racers (I never played the GC version so I can't remember what they did off the top of my head)
Bring back the great music
Craft customization/tweaking needs to be expanded more
The weather system in Blue Storm looked cool, like I said I never played, but from what I saw you had to pick certain tracks on certain days depending on the weather
