You're thinking of the Refine version. It definitely has a bit of an odd look, but I think it's worth playing for the voice acting.

Anyway, that mod's readme says it doesn't work on Refine, so this win95 version is a different thing. Seems impossible to find, though. I'd like to see if it's any different from the DOS version.

After looking up the requirements on the PM wiki I was able to get the ruling queen ending and still marry her. I remember people saying this was impossible back in the day, but the trick is to not make her too good a queen. She needs 500+ morality for the patron deity to say that "she did wonderfully at her job", but she won't marry me if she has that much. So I can only marry a queen that does "fairly well" at her job.
Also funny how this happens right after the former King says he'd like her to marry the prince.

The issue with those is not that she's too good. The writer ending just happens if you have Art has her highest individual stat, for some reason that just overrides everything and gives you an art related ending regardless of anything else.

The housewife thing is weird. The wiki says it happens if your daughter qualifies for any of the "social" endings but you also have a special marriage lined up. I tested this by loading my save from >>7328987 and lowering her combat reputations until her social rep was the highest by more than 50 points, ended the game and got an ending where she becomes a housewife and marries me. Then I reloaded that save, scolded her once to lower her love for me just a bit to disable the father marriage, ended the game and got the ending where she marries the king. So basically if she qualifies for a high social position, but has a marriage that interferes with it, she just defaults to being a fucking housewife.

It's pretty friendly to beginners, but you're not going to get the exact ending you want most likely, unless you know what you're doing. One thing to take into account, though, is the daughter will become delinquent if you have her overexert herself and overdo things in her schedule. And just look at how her stats change after each action you take and it's pretty self explanatory and easy to pick up, but comparatively difficult to totally master and get the exact ending you want, without a bit of trial and error.

Killing harpies and skeletons in the desert is the easiest way to make money as they drop 200~300 gold each. You can easily make like 2000g from just one trip. She does need to be pretty strong to be able to do it, but that's why I always rush to win the first harvest festival and then blow the prize money on fighting and fencing lessons to have her combat skill and attack pretty much maxed out before she's 12.

What's the most "jack of all trades" sequence, if there even is one? Seems pretty easy. You need to have a difference of more than 50 points between your highest and lowest reputation- the way this works is that if all four reps are close together you go into a "general" set of endings, but if they're uneven (more than 50 points between highest and lowest) you go into a set of endings related to your highest rep. Obviously have magic reputation as the highest, but not too high or you'll get something better than instructor.

It's the latter, all three stats have to be at least double. This is what prevents you from marrying a daughter that is a "wonderful" queen, because that requires 500 morality and the stats that need to be double cap at 999. So you can only marry a daughter that is a "fairly good" queen.

But there's no explanation as for why they even had this kid up in heaven and why she suddenly needs to be brought up on Earth. You can only conjecture that it's some sort test of humanity's worth and the dad character was chosen because he's a legendary hero with good values or something.
