Did you ever have or use a Super Game Boy, /vr/?
Is it worth picking one up today?

Also, classic GB general.

Assuming you can get one cheap, why not?

How much is one worth nowadays? I don't have any local retro stores near me, and there's nothing on Craigslist remotely acceptable.

How bad is ~$12 shipped from eBay?

Yeah it is cool. I plan to buy a Super Game Boy 2 soon.

>> No.731208

I bought it shortly after they came out.

Sure as hell beat buying batteries just to have the GB suck 'em dry.

I think I've read it's also slightly more accurate to the Gameboy's timings or something.

Have one, used it a lot back in the day, but the GameBoy Player for GameCube is better.

Either Gameboy Player,

Emulate on the Wii/PSP with video cables

Do you even know what a Super GameBoy is? It's not an emulator, it's literally a GameBoy that you plug into your Super NES.

I had one, and can remember sinking a lot of hours into it, but I seriously can't remember what games I played most, aside from Pogeymans.

I know I played the arse off of Kirby's Pinball Land, but that was always in my GB...

Anyway, I loved loading up a new game and seeing if it had a special border. And trying to find all the hidden animations on the default ones

it said the gameboy player enhanced some games color abilties as well.

Some games like super star saga have a ruble feature for GBplayer.

Yet some games get graphics boosts? according to wikipedia and the super gameboy page

The timing issue can be rectified by adding an appropriate crystal to the Super Game Boy and disconnecting the Super NES's clock source.

I just got one recently. Always owned a GB, never felt the need to play the games on my TV.

It is great. Why did I wait so long? You will have tons of fun just messing with the color pallettes. Get one!

It runs at 1.2 speed, its retarded, get a gc with GBP instead

>> No.732219

My friend owned a Super Game Boy, back when it was a pretty high tech thing to have. So, yeah, I've played one.

You can play on your much larger, backlit television, It lets you choose a palette of four colours for your game, and certain games that are made with it in mind come with a custom border display. It's pretty great, if you love Gameboy.

If you can get one that's not too expensive (I have no idea how much they go for now), I'd recommend grabbing one.
