So, who else enjoyed endlessly tormenting the shit out of Pacman?

It's one of my favorite games. When I had to start over with my collection, this was the first SNES game I bought.

Surprisingly fun to play in a group setting, it's a very funny and watchable game.

I didn't torture him; I made him happy.
I liked watching him walk down the street and whistle.

Just look at how many animations this fucker has. Pretty sure this pic is even missing a few, like the one where he's going completely bonkers.

Interesting game. My mom rented it once when I was a child and I couldn't really get in to it. It was enjoyable but I didn't accomplish a whole lot. Should really play this again.

It was a really interesting way to do an adventure game, especially during a time when every adventure game was "use every item in your inventory on every other item in your inventory, or anything you can interact with". It felt like they could really make a whole series out of it.

Fucking great game. I would spend hours just playing Pac-Man in the arcade. I think this was one of my first games that I beat, either this or DKC.

There was Wonder Project J on the SNES and it's sequel J2 on the N64. They were a lot like Pac-Man 2 but with some RPG stat mechanics (in J1 at least, J2 dropped them) and you could teach the protagonist to always act a certain way with objects.

There was also Lifeline on the PS2 where you gave voice commands to the protagonist using a microphone.

PacMan2 is a funny game. I loved it when I was a kid. Also, I adore the differing ways Pac Man reacts to certain events. If he's happy he tends to be at his best, if he's TOO happy (turns into a cocky fucker) he does dumb shit. If he's mad he just tries to steamroll shit, and if he's sad he doesn't want to do shit.

No, see, Pac-Man Party is the first Pac-Man, and then you've got Pac-Mania which takes place 200 years later, and then you've got Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man happening 13,000 years after that, and then the time line splits due to Baby Pac-Man...

I'm about 50/50 on this game. I though it was bizarrely entertaining as a kid, and I remember screwing around with my mom and dad, trying to figure out just what the fuck we had to do to get more stuff. I think we together 100%'d the game too.

And yet, it's also incredibly frustrating and is very much like an old adventure game, in that you have to find the exact way to do things because there are so many things out there that fuck you up in horrible ways. In the end, the controls are pretty bad, and yet that was probably the point.

And yet again, I can't help but admire what they were trying to go for. It was definitely innovative in its own little way - and it said it right on the box - "an interactive cartoon". So it wasn't supposed to be actually responsive and the like, and it was more about stumbling around from awkward situation to awkward situation, laughing at Pac-Man's misfortune until you make it to the end.

Doesn't make it less frustrating though. Fucking bunny.

Pac-Man 2 discussion? On my /vr/?

I'm not big into adventure games, but the uniqueness and bizarre sense of humor (them facial expressions) make it one of my all-time favorite SNES games.

This was my first Adventure Game. I didn't even know what Adventure games were when I picked this up at my local Toy Store. I saw Pac-Man, I liked Pac-Man, my dad liked Pac-Man, so we bought Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures for the SNES. It took me years of playing on and off but I finally beat it one Saturday morning long ago.

So /vr/ which version of the game did you play SNES or Genesis?
