A ROM dump is a copy of the Read Only Memory contained within any medium (mask ROM chip, flash memory, EEPROM memory, optical media, magnetic media, etc.).

An "ISO" as is commonly called is a slang for optical disc images, not necessarily in .iso format and which doesn't necessarily use the ISO9660 filesystem.

The .iso format supports single track media only and especially limited and useless for actual CDs and CD-ROM as the quoted retarded said: you have to use at least Bin+Cue for multiple track CDs and Img+Sub+Ccd for backing up subchannel data if necessary or desirable.

This "is ISO not ROM" retardation is one of dumbest misconceptions still reproduced to this fucking day.
