Still ugly as sin. Wtf was Nintendo thinking?

I like it. It was the era when designs were "fun," rather than the technically stylish but deathly serious and sterile design we've had for the past decade or so.

Looks good to me. What's wrong with the cube's design?

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING It could have been a nearly perfect portable SNES

>> No.7289668

They weren't marketing it to people who wanted a portable snes, I can't imagine how awful that thing would be if it launched with 4 buttons. Two was perfect for the shape and size, and if you aren't shit at design, it's all you need

The series X is literally just a long gamecube

Given how even the first party releases were either templated on SNES games like F-Zero or literally just reissued SNES games that's a peculiar way of seeing it

I feel like you've never played the GBA. Or you think any 2D game ever is a snes game for some weird reason. What do you even mean 'templated' on snes games?

Ok, you got me shitposting. I admit the system's library was a masterclass demonstration of ingenuity and thoughtful exploration of the hardware's unique idiosyncrasies towards breaking new ground

it's a good looking console... in the right colors. The dark purple and black that constitute the majority of cubes are the worst fitting colors for it IMO. The orange in OP's picture and the pearl one are great
