There is nothing wrong with scalping.
You're playing for the convenience of getting the item early as opposed to waiting ages for new stock to arrive.

Plus, people have families to feed. So maybe stop being a selfish manbaby and be greatful there're people out there willing to buy up stock to sell to others when your jobless ass was too slow.
Grow the fuck up.

to be fair steelsticks have always been crazy expensive. This is just overkill though. Hurts competetive communities if anything

capitalism
if you don't want people to scalp, social conditions should be addressed so these people aren't at risk of dying homeless and hungry if they don't scalp
scalpers simply would not exist without the all-corrupting profit motive

N64 Controller collecting isn’t for the average video gamer who complains about $80 gamecube games. I look out for N64 controllers and have 114 of them to my name hanging up in my den, never payed more for $500 for one(Star Fox Competition 97), and lowest I paid was $7 for 4. Different price points for different collectors, don’t get angry because you find it too expensive. It’s not a stupid decision for me to buy stuff like this, but that’s because I can afford it. I also buy video games collections from eBay, collectors getting out of the game, ect, if you wanna start talking *money*, I’ve dropped well over $10,000 on a single collection before. Seriously please stop complaining about things you can’t afford. Most retro game collectors are like this, poor and picky, and complain about spending 60 bucks for tmnt on snes. And you are the kind of collectors I hate talking too. It’s like talking to a middle schooler when you are in college, you can’t take them seriously.

You don't even know what you're talking about.

Market IS capitalism, private property IS capitalism. Capitalism exists since humans learned to trade and it can not "collapse" since: One, it is not a political "system", two, resources are finite.

Scalping is actually torturous interference, which breaks both ethical and legal laws as well as the rules of capitalism. The only reason no one does anything about it is that it is difficult and expensive to litigate. Once Sony and Microsoft get tired of scalpers keeping hardware out of the hands of people who actually buy games you'll start seeing some anti-scalping laws.

Steelsticks would be nice if the fucker would actually make more and if you weren't just constantly dealing with scalpers to try and get one. You could buy like 10 N64 controllers and probably get like 3-4 ones out of that batch with good condition analog sticks for the price of just one of those steelstick modded ones. Just lube the mechanism up so it doesn't grind itself to death and it'll last pretty much as long.

Best off replacing the parts of a worn, original stick. Kitsch-Bent sell replacement gears, bowls, and thumbsticks (thought right at this moment, their store is undergoing maintenance.)
Put those pieces together with some white lithium grease and you've got a brand new analog stick.

It's crazy to me that people are willing to pay upwards of $200+ for just the steel bowls alone.

Would haggling with the sellers even work?
Concidering all the parts together price-wise it'd be around $100 - $120 depending on which ones you get, excluding rare controllers that is.
$150 - $175 seems like a more fair price if we're being generous.
