I care. It is one of my top 5 consoles of all time. I still enjoy the nostalgic music and sounds from the many great games. Lots of fun and impressive visuals. It was like the NeoGeo of the 8-bit world.

Gate of Thunder is fucking incredible. One of the best shmups I have ever played. Other games like Soldier Blade and Blazing Lazers and Magical Chase are amazing as well. Lords of Thunder is technically on this but I prefer the Sega CD version. The Shmups in general on the system are great.
Neutopia 1 and 2 are good clones of Zelda 1
Dungeon Explorer 1 and 2 are really fun especially if you can wrangle some people into co-op. Me and my friends played through it after we got tired of running Gauntlet Dark Legacy over and over.
There's a lot of fun platformers, Jackie Chan is great and most of the Bonk games are good little trips.
Down Load 2 is fucking hilarious for the insane story and final boss
And Last Alert is probably the best bad voice acting game of its era.

It is one of my most favorite games on the system. The music is so good (and young looking Godesses), that makes it a viable play, even with the newer Eternal/Complete releases available on PC.

I've only dabbled with it because lol eop, but I fucking love the soundtrack (which is an unpopular opinion in the Megaten sphere), and I really like how it looks and plays compared to the SuFami version; it feels more like a successor to Megami Tensei II on the Famicom, which makes sense. It also has some voiced lines in the intro, and a few redbook audio tracks that are pretty neat, mainly the ending theme. The MEGA CD version is fucking weird though, the dungeon crawling is at a snail's pace, which kind of kills the whole vibe.

Didn't really have the chance to get into it back in the day because it wasn't really a thing in europe, at least where I live.
I've started to get into it though when the SSDS3 first came out. A while ago i got lucky and got a "broken" comparibly cheap SuperGrax from Yahoo Auctions.
Thing looks pretty minty and works perfectly. Dunno why, but japanese sellers seem to really enjoy listing working items as broken.

This is like 3/4 of the library. You need to know Japanese to appreciate them and even if you do this type of game style is not popular anymore. You don't need to know Japanese for STG (shooting games) but they are a niche genre at best.

Most people are clueless because the console bombed in North America + Europe so even the so called "experts" know jack shit and produce only very surface level lists. So what you're left with are a lot of rather mediocre side scrolling games.

Then the actual defenders will then try to make the system match the Mega Drive and Super Fami so they add a lot of bloat to their lists.

The PC-FX was doomed from day 1. The Saturn and PlayStation were the consoles were visual novels. In many ways the Saturn is the true successor to the PC-Engine not the actual PC-FX.

Thanks. That's one thing I don't like about the PCE. The dpad on most PCE controllers sucks for me.
The thingy on the photo is an adapter to use Genesis 3 and 6 button pads on PCE. Also emulates 6 button PCE pads for the few games that make use of them.
