Everyone called is PlayStation, PS or PSX. Psone /PS1 started to be a thing in 1999 when the actual PS2 was announced. The official PlayStation magazine pushed the term Psone in order to sell their redesign or the console. It's only a few years later with the PS2 well installed that people started to call the og PlayStation "PS1".
