Posted this yesterday in a similar thread, but Pac Man World 2 is one of the best scotformers of the 6th gen. It's a pity no one has heard of it.

Well, I'm currently playing a Japan-only RPG called The Airs. Basically you take part in a wacky races-type competition in a world of airplanes and floating continents. Feels a lot like a Ghibli movie. It's got a novel information mechanic, a calendar and time-of-day system that affects things, and an interesting story (from what I can understand). My only issue is that it's got very basic turnbased combat.

Not too hidden, kind of forgotten, but definitely a game of gems.

Turok Evolution on GBA- its Contra
Rollergames on NES- Konami beat em up no one remembers
Ardy Lightfood on SNES - decent platformer
The Divide on PS1- 3D mech metroidvania of sorts (from what I remember)
The Flinstones on Genesis - the Taito one, dont know if there is one based off the shit movie on there. The Taito one on SNES is also good.

Skullmonkeys for ps1, a great platformer imo not sure most people have heard of it

What is the point of playing an RPG in a language you don't understand

I'm not fluent by any means but I can mostly understand what's going on. In the cases where I have no idea what to do I consult a japanese playthrough on niconico. That aside, the artstyle is really nice.

I stumbled upon Gemfire a few years ago and got really into it for a few weeks.
You run an empire and have to build up troops, send them, money and grain between territories to take over others and watch out for markets, plagues and betrayals.
It's fairly simple, and the difficulty can be bullshit, so you have to work out the meta and stick to that, no room for roleplay, but it's entertaining, and the battles are little tactical affairs.

Never see anyone talking about Gemfire, but it's worth a go.
