The PSX moniker was extremely widespread in the western market though and defacto what everybody and their grandmother abbreviated Playstation to even if it made no sense because there wasn't an X to be found in the actual name. I remember wondering about that as a kid. So, I can live with PS (which by the way was also in use just not as much as PSX) but PS1 really irks me because it's rewriting history.
