The Saturn one is an actual port of the arcade original.
The PC version was some weird hybrid, that took the Game Gear/Master System version as base, so it doesn't look as good.

everyone talks about this half finished game because of its rarity and price.
music? i don't remember a single melody. panzer dragoon 1 had a much, much better OST.
story? come on now.. magical girl, bad guy wants the magical girl, hero saves her. not a single memorable character.
and i won't even talk about the gameplay nor the horrible graphics in some areas.
only atmosphere and visual aesthetics save this game

Yeah, what's with that. It's been at least two summers since there were weekly threads about this. What happened? Did youtube stop talking about it?
Anyway I really like the game. It's like the devs traveled into the future, collected a list of things zoomies complain about as "artificial difficulty", then went back and made a bunch of mini games that featured each one and strung them all together into a story with cool music. Absolutely brilliant.

I saw this on the back of the saturn box where it had tiny screencaps from launch titles and wanted to play it so bad. I never saw the game irl though. Not at any store of even as a rental.

Yes, the story and cut scenes are great. Just the right mix of kitsch and quality. I certainly understand why casuals hate it but it's really a damn good game.
