I bought a box of PS2 sports games at a flea market once for less than $1 a game. The plan was to use them as replacement cases. Jokes on me, though, because a lot of them have one of those holographic authentication stickers that are a bitch to remove.

Sometimes you get lucky with lots and bundles though.
Console bundles especially

And then the games turn out to be a mint condition copy of Super Metroid and a loose Chrono Trigger
This is especially true for PS2 bundles which have a super low price but also typically bundle in like 30 games so you get 26 Singstar games + the .hack quadrilogy

I never understood the appeal of sports games, and for that matter the hatred they garner. I don't think they offer anywhere near a realistic portrayal of their sports, which I feel would put off the so called "sports jocks".

I only hate retro EA sports because they tried being. Arcadey sports like Tecmo Bowl, NFL Blitz, NBA Jam, Neo Geo Baseball Stars, International Supserstar Soccer, Virtua Tennis, Virtua Striker, are some of the most fun games of all time.
