Actually, they're free.
Can someone recommend some good speakers for a crt monitor? The speakers may need to be pretty close to the monitor so they'll need to be shielded. I'm not an audiophile. I have a couple monitors set up with speakers but I need some nice(ish) ones for a third setup. Currently using a couple of Roland monitors with one crt monitor and a pair of magnetically shielded front speakers for another. I got all the shit together for free along with some 70v speakers but 70v amps seem to be kind of expensive.

Do you know how to hook up all the wires ?
I would say tower or bookshelf speakers.
Match the receiver power with whatever the speakers are rated for if its 100watt rms speaker and you buy two get a 200watt receiver. But make sure its a good brand.

I just snagged a 14" PVM for free
they're definitely still out there
Now is the time to be on the hunt since with covid a lot of production studios are dropping square footage left and right and offloading a bunch of their legacy hardware for free/cheap

>> No.7200419

>>7200367
Sure, Ive done pretty well with the wire/cables so far. Everything is going through an extron crosspoint. I'm not really sure how that would work with a receiver. I like the versatility of the crosspoint and being able to thrown any signal or combination of signals to any speaker or monitor combination.

>> No.7200432

>all that shit just to plug a 7th/8th gen into a crt
Why do people do this?

>> No.7200441

>>7200416
Yup, not only are studios dropping square footage, but smaller rental houses are looking to eek out any income they can with all production frozen. They'd love to get a cold call about gear, especially old outdated shit that takes up a bunch of space.
If you wait to run into it online, you're already too late.

Ive never seen a cross point before.
I just use a reciever and these. the output goes to the reciever. And anything you input plays out the speakers. Ive even Daisy chained them together when one gets full. Im not aware if there is larger ones.
