>implying you won't do this to your kids for laughs

I did it to my ~9yo cousin when he visited, he wouldn't get his nose out of his games (something I'm sure he picked up from me in the past). I'm trying to be a better role model for him, which means down playing how much I actually game.

"It's time to turn off your Gameboy, bud."
"It's not a Gameboy, it's a DS Lite!"

I made it up for him. He'd been playing Star Fox Command all visit, so I emulated Star Fox 64 and Assault for him on my HDTV with gamepads, and we had a lot of fun with multiplayer. I still want to be the cool cousin, I just don't want him to end up like me. He has a Wii and I plan on buying him Assault next holiday, he loved it. sage for not retro and not personal blog

Spoilered for completely off topic, stupid personal shit
Borderline I think. I ain't happy about it.
21, living with parents, dropped out of college for ~2 years, only have 1 year worth of courses passed, taking classes in fall for major that I'm not sure I want, absolutely no idea what I want to do with my life, don't have a passion for anything, unemployed for 6 months despite not really being busy, room is almost constantly a mess; don't feel anywhere close to even having general life skills that an 18yo should have, like keeping up with my own laundry, shaving on a regular basis so I don't look like a hobo, etc; I tend not to leave the house for days on end, I haven't been on facebook in 5 months, I've lost touch with all my friends over the past 4 months and a lot of them are graduating from college this weekend, and if I had kept up with my classes, I would be too. Plus a bunch of other shit. I am quite ashamed of myself, and while I want to reconnect with friends, it sucks telling them "Not much has changed with me for the past 4 months (or more), I've been sitting at home surfing the net, fapping, and playing videogames while you've gone out and had actual life experiences and are preparing to start your careers." Especially when that's been the story of my life for a little over 1.5 years now, broken up here and there by brief spats of me being a social butterfly.

Sorry for the ramble, been drinking and am tired. Nice to get off my chest.

Don't feel so bad, i'm exactly like you, just that I'm 22, if you think you can deal with the fact that you will die alone and your life won't have any lasting effect in the world, there's no problem in being a NEET really, society is too big to fail so not everyone needs to contribute anymore.

Hey up.
31 yo here. I spend a decade of my life loafing about in a manner similar to what you described. It was grand, I didn't really feel bad about it save for a few bouts. Then I decided to go to university in 2009 when the time felt right. It just did. I am graduating this year, took it at a steady pace. No pressure. Became a semi-professional author in the meantime. You might have a point in your life where you realize its time to do something. Could be anything. Could be any time. It doesn't matter. I can't do laundry either. And I advise you not to shave. Grow a quality beard. Don't rush even though our shame-driven culture seems to mandate it. You have nothing to feel bad about.

Also, you can make it through the water area lined with spikes if you only push left and right on the controller. If Alex drifts upward normally he simply bumps harmlessly against them.

>what nintendo are you playing?

Reminds me, years ago one of those timeshare scams sent my parents a letter saying anyone who listened to their spiel would get "a nintendo." We were tempted to go just to see what shitty thing they would give us.

Dude, don't go into university wondering what you're going to do once you leave, just go through it and worry about it when you leave. If the climate's as bad as it is now, there won't be any new jobs for graduates when you leave, so just make the most of it.

Sounds very similar to my position, except I'm 24 and have a master's in mathematics. I'm currently languishing while something comes and relights my fire. Anything would be nice.
