Nothing there. I tried searching for translations too but Machi is kind of a hard name to google.

No
Otogirisou has had a few playthroughs translated into YouTube
Kamaitachi no Yoru had a shitty localization on the iPhone that butchered the game that Spike Chunsoft acts like it never existed, and super famicom original has a translated playthrough or two on YouTube
Shibuya 428 is playable in English
That’s about it for the Sound Novels in English
Machi and the sound novel series are some of the most influential games ever in Japan and it’s retarded they keep getting skipped over for other story-heavy games that nobody ever asked for

Do you think there's some English translation group out there that doesn't publicize their translations? If you can't find it in the usual suspects then it hasn't' been scanned.

I dunno what the usual suspects are, man. Last translation I played was Mother 3.
>>7167514
Thanks. Yeah, I'd never even heard of it but it seems to be treated like FF7 or Dragon Quest over there. I started watching Canaan, but it quickly became apparent that I should play Shibuya 428 first, and...

Romhacking should have most translations. Otherwise people will post to their own translation groups or forums and a simple search will mention it. If something is translated it tends to be big news.

What is a sound novel and how does it differ from a visual novel? Or is "sound novel" just the name of the series?

Why do they even bother porting visual novels to the Game Boy if they're going to use an 8x8 font? Can Japanese people even read those kanji?

>> No.7169802

>>7169319
First one was mediocre. Is the sequel better?

>>7169789
That's perfectly readable if you're familiar with the kanji and can make assumptions from context. That port also had a kana-only mode if you prefer.

I think it's almost entirely text withotu even much visuals, hense "sound novel". Spooky music text adventure basically. Due to the lack of anime kawaii girls no one bothers to translate them.

I'm not Japanese, but that says "私、ニガーは、貨物船『ダイアナ』の船長である。 本日、一ヶ月の休暇を終えて、再び『ダイアナ』に乗船する事となった。"
So yes, a Japanese person would be able to read that with no problem.
