I used to think there was a secret exit to Vanilla Dome 1 which took me to the rocks right above it. I spent hours religiously pouring over every pixel of the level trying to find it...

What about you?

I once swore that I had gotten a master ball from Prof Oak in Pokemon Red. I believed I did this when I had played my cousin's copy for a short while. He had completed the Elite 4 in his game and I thought this must be what Oak rewards you with. This was back before even Gold and Silver had been announced.

Another one, not retro unfortunately but I'll share, happened during a play-through of Metroid Zero Mission in which for whatever reason I my suit turned into this cool ass looking purple and neon-blue design and fired an odd beam. I have no clue if I somehow unlocked it through a random sequence of events or if it was a pretty cohesive glitch.

I remember being able to go around the lake in the Vanilla Dome to enter the Valley of Bowser.

Also, I remember ogres in WarCraft: Orcs and Humans wearing shades on their portrait (my brother also seems to recall this, too).

The first time I played Mega Man X and remember picking up an item at Chill Penguin's stage that gave me the Storm Tornado ability.

I'm not sure if I actually had anomalous experiences playing these games, or if they're just false memories, but I'm leaning toward the latter.

Eternal Champions CD.

Game had fuck ton of finishing moves. Most of them involved punching the enemy to a certain spot of the level as your last move.

I think there were like, 2 per level, plus one where your character mauled the opponent? Which is a fucking lot considering the game had a gigantic roster, ranging from Atlantean capoeira fighters through a B.C. caveman through a senator from Washington to Crispy the Chicken (an actual chicken). All with their own levels...

Yeah that game was crazy
There was the Overkill, which required a defeated opponent to land on a certain spot

Sudden Deaths are if the opponent lands on a spot with 33% or less life

Vendettas, which were button combos performed on a stunned opponent with 33% life

And Cinekills which were complicated to do but sent the opponent to the Dark Champion, who then transforms into a character specific form, like a shark for Riptide (I think), and kills them
