Let's talk about pinball.

What's your favourite machine?
Are there are available in a bar near you?

Did you finally bite the bullet and bought one because you wanted to play during the lockdown?

>What's your favourite machine?
That's a tough one. Whitewater is up there. Great pin.
>Are there are available in a bar near you?
One hole in the wall place I love has a pin. It's always changing. Spent so much money there when they had a Ghostbusters.
>Did you finally bite the bullet and bought one because you wanted to play during the lockdown?
I have not bought one during the lockdown. I already own 3 tho :^) SoF, Cyclone, and F-14. Saving up for a 4th currently.

Based System 11 collector.
What do you want for your 4th?

I've been itching to get Mousin' Around or Jokerz, lately.

There are amusement auctions once or twice a year on the east coast. Pinballs all set to free play all day. Go there with a truck and 4k and come home with 4 or 5 machines which might need a little work or new decals.

They're too expensive for my liking, but if I had more room and an endless supply of money, I could get into it. My friend's dad had a pinball machine in their game room that was on the other side of their house. We could play late into the night without disturbing anyone. It did have to be repaired from time to time which wasn't cheap from what I gathered.

I don’t have a favorite, but I always like to play them if they’re at a bar or something that I go to. In my city there are at least six or seven places that I can think of that have machines. One of them even has about a dozen.

I can’t imagine wanting to have one at home. to me it just seems like one of those things you do when you go out.

how much does a pinball machine cost? I feel like it would be a fortune.
Also maintenance would be a complete bitch on them I take it. Just sounds like an overall pain in the ass to have one since it's essentially a gimmick

But there was a neighborhood restaurant that had the Addam's Family (which has to be the most famous pinball machine ever) along with Hydro Thunder.
You can guess where I always begged my family to eat out

A new one is 6,500, about. More for a deluxe one.
A used one in playing condition... well, it varies a lot depending on era. And model, of course.
2000 is a good price for an 80s game, I think. The old electromechanicals from the 70s and earlier are 500-1000. I think. Pinside has a price estimate for each machine.

It's actually not that hard. At least since the mid 80's.

Tales of the Arabian Nights or Mideaval Madness
>Are there are available in a bar near you?
Have to drive a while, but it's worth it
>Did you finally bite the bullet and bought one because you wanted to play during the lockdown?
Can't afford it. I pirated The Pinball Arcade for wiiu to hold me over

>Tales of the Arabian Nights
What a man of culture. The layout is incredible, but the rules are somewhat shallow and it's too easy to abuse them.

In my price range will probably pick up either a High Speed, Pinbot or maybe a Taxi. You can still find those fairly reasonable. If I came across a deal I wouldn't mind a BK2000 or Elvira tho.

Never understood the appeal of BK2000. The music and artwork is great, but the gameplay always seemed incredibly shallow to me, even for a System11.
