It can play other NES games, in theory and it's being worked on by guys that will have that solved fairly soon.
It also shipped with a language error that Nintendo acknowledged, so that may be fixed in the future, possibly leaving the first wave of these things to be rare one day.

>> No.7137909

for having a spelling error? Are you retarded?
People opened this PoS up day 1 and there's no easy way to mod it. Certainly no plug and play way. You'd have to open it up and solder in order to program it.

Yes it has to be opened up, but it can already play a version of Doom with no hardware mods. It's getting cracked big time.

>for having a spelling error? Are you retarded?
Are you? If and this is a big if, if Nintendo fixes it and if that re-release ever happens and if those units outnumber the original run, then yes, it's a safe bet that the originals will become worth more to some people. This happens with comic books, coins, video games and basically everything else that's collectible or something that people think is cool.

My criticism applies to the product itself as well. It seems hokey to sell a product based on a given platform, then play games from another platform on it.

Which my PSP can effortlessly emulate those on top of great Genesis / Megadrive and PS1 emulation (not to mention there being also other alternatives that are just as good as a PSP like this anon >>7135264 )
. Really, this thing is just as pointless and shoddily put together as the PS1 Mini.
>both had the potential of being cool little novelties to own if they had decent emulation and library of games, specially for what they're supposed to be emulating when judging by their looks and adverts
>both deliver on too little things that barely anyone would care with the ridiculous pricetag in place
>they're still not worth the purchase even if you mod them as there are better consoles and handelds (both official and third party) that deliver much more options and homebrews at a better price
