Post actually good third party controller from when their consoles were still relevant

this shit was uncomfortable as fuck IMO, although the d-pad was great if you didn't mind its clickiness

Maybe the wrong thread for it but what's a good replacement for the 7-pin original SNES controller? My originals are beat to all hell and do phantom inputs and things.

This one was actually probably better than the original

I had that. It was good for leveling up in Mario RPG. Just toggle A on turbo and stand Mario in a place where enemies spawn infinitely, then go to the grocery store with Mom.

I remember the snes actually having good 3rd partycontrollers for the most part. Shit didn’t start getting real weird until the next gen and mad kats.

I think Hori and Ascii made some nice aftermarket controllers. They can help with some special situations which stock controllers does not suffice.

Do you always use pad marble anon?

You start, OP. I own that controller and it feels like fucking dog shit.

It is better. It's basically the jp pad with turbo and slow switches. I assume Nintendo helped Asciiware make them since it feels 1st party and it says made in Japan on the back.

No, as you can see, these are on a different surface.

I prefer it for playing the Street Fighter 3 games. I feel its d-pad is better suited to do blocks/parries over a standard Sega Saturn pad. Another thing it does better than a standard Saturn controller is having equal sized XYZ buttons that matches the ABC buttons. It's biggest negative I have found are the lack of replacement contact silicone pads which will be needed after overuse. I have heard the rumble motor could die, but have not experienced that.
