this threads great honestly but how about encouraging some play? maybe pick a easy to access game and get some times going for fun? im playing ferrari and australia course on outrunners atm if anyones interested? or maybe the expert super hang on challenge which im yet to get anywhere near clearing.

playing Gran Turismo 4 right now. although I wouldn't call it a "hyper realistic sim", that would be stuff like iRacing etc. maybe the newer GT's are moving in that direction, but GT1-4 are more "simcade".

but I wish my PC was strong enough to run SCUD Race on an emulator, I miss that game

Same, I also enjoy sim and sim/cade stuff, but my favorite will always be arcade racers.

Me too my computer sucks lol. Hopefully will be able to upgrade soon. Whatever happened to that 90's arcade racer (I think that was literally the name) indie game that was supposed to come out?

Errr, even an old core2duo should be able to run the latest supermodel model 3 emulator builds at full speed. There hasn't been an official release since v0.2a, but there's been tons and tons of builds posted, and heaps of progress to speed things up. There were links on the forums, but the site seems to be down right now...

I don't know what happened but Jet Moto 2 Championship Edition bumps the framerate to 30 fps, which affects the physics and suddenly I can beat everyone without breaking a sweat. The controls are amazingly responsive after the framerate boost.
