Interestingly Dan is capable of doing one hand hadokens though. They're canonically extremely hard to do, only a few characters in the series can do them. He probably tried to skip right to the most difficult techniques because he hates training. If he used two hands he'd probably be able to create one of a decent size and throw it a good distance.
