I am a score runner Anon, I know what you mean but you still get that 1 base point from every enemy even if it's possible to squeeze more with charge shot +1s. I mean that the scores are not inflated by making the lowest possible points from an enemy a 1000 or something of that magnitude.

I definitely like Star Fox 64, it's maybe not a 10/10 but it's still a great game. I kind of wish I was in an alternate universe where it was considered the best on the system instead of Ocarina of Time which I simply don't get, not to derail the thread, I just think that OoT isn't that good. Heavily prefer Majora's Mask. At least if Star Fox 64 was the game that got heralded as the best game of all time I could get it and not be confused about what people see in it.

It is one of the best shootemups, but I think it could easily be outdone. If nintendo put as much effort into a sequel instead of farming them out they could have had a solid franchise lasting 25 years by now. Instead we got starfox 1 and 2 and then adventures which was unfinished but ok, assualt which was a step down from sf64 et cetera

The redpill is that SF64 and F-Zero X are the only great N64 Nintendo games, Treasure beats the rest, PD and DKR are the only good Rare game (and PD is actually best played on a non-N64 hardware) and the rest is almost shovelware-tier or multiplats best played on other systems.
