Does anyone know if the Hori Fighting Stick EX for Xbox is good?

Also post other retro sticks

Stick looks like a Seimitsu.

>> No.7038004 [DELETED]

Just get a PS adapter and use any PS stick or custom.
Hori Fighting sticks are the best from that era but that's not saying much.

Get a Mayflash F300, wire it up to any PS1 digital controller PCB, change the stick or buttons if necessary.

is that the cheapest way?

i need 2P functionality
I was going to build the entire thing from scratch sanwa sticks/happ buttons

No. The cheapest way is to lick your fingers and touch the wires really fast.

no its NOT good, and its definitely NOT seimitsu. Its a cheap hori stick. And even worse, hori pre kuro buttons.

general rule of thumb is if its under €80[or whatever the equiv $ is] used its going to suck ass, a lot of those smaller size sticks have bad buttons and sticks, and if you want to swap out for nicer internals, usually the buttons are soldered in.
OP I'd probably get a 360 era madcatz TE, or hori HRAP EX [swap the buttons to sanwas] and a 360>hueg adapter,
if you want something smaller you can get a madcatz SE and swap the buttons to sanwas too

This Lioncast stick is easily moddable as far as I know and costs under way under €80.

>>7039728
It's generally arcade stick or more precisely arcade controller since the stick itself is a part of it.

>fuck madcatz
Why? It's thanks to them pushing this retarded "muh fighting stick" on zoomers that I was able to pick up a brawl stick for 20 bucks. I couldn't build a case that nice for 20 bucks, let alone get a PCB too.

get a madcatz Brawl Stick/SFIV Fightstick for 360 or ps3. use to be easily available for $20 new, now you have to find them used at that price, but dont worry about condition since your gonna replace everything but the base anyway. I saw some on shop.goodwill for cheap some months ago, but check ebay and amazon etc.

I did this with a $20 brawlstick, $40 seimitsu stick and buttons, and under $10 of 3M car wrap

might as well get a custom 2P arcade controller made

the whole point is for me to be able to multiplayer/modularity

if you can have something made with sanwa or seimitsu parts cheaper you should. are you making like a cabinet or like a 2player arcade podium? if not why would you want 2 sets of sticks and buttons in a single unit? I'd rather have two seperate sticks for more comfortable seating

I have this and a QanbaQ4. It you already play on pad don't bother, pad and stick are just as good. If you play keyboard look at hitbox. Otherwise teyah dot net has info that might help. It's not exactly cheap but it'll last... Also new gen of consoles so there might be sales, new models, etc. Best to wait

man that shit was the worse thing about playing fighters in arcades. 10 year old me was always fucking struggling to play at a diagonal angle because of some fat fuck who took 90% of the cabinet. Fuck that shit. I was so happy when MK2 came out for genesis and it didn't suck.

This one works with both the original Xbox and PS2. It is not genuine Happ and not my favored control method, but my friend likes using it probably because he was employed by arcades and prefer to use grapple characters in fighting games. I would rather adapt other controllers to the Xbox. Hori was an okay alternative, but they got better as time went on, at the point when they made that stick, you would be best to install genuine Sanwa/Seimitus parts to improve that stick.
