I live in NA and still play it occasionally. I played 1.3-1.6 from 2002 to 2012, with a fair bit of competitive experience (CAL-m/p) and I yearn for the days of dedicated servers and map rotations again. Modern FPS games are just so fucking bad with matchmaking ruining 99% of the fun of pubbing. At this point I have essentially given up on modern fps games.

Nope. There are still a fair amount of people that still plays it though. But most have moved up to skin simulator: global ofensive. It's kind of sad, I always liked source better than the others and absolutely nobody plays it.

Do anything but this. The final straw for me was them adding 100$ guns that let you reset your KDR at the end of match, had a built in melee and top tier accuracy. I know in the 2 years after that they added many more of those, I can only imagine how fucked that whole situation would be this long after.

nothing scratches the same itch as CS 1.6 on custom map servers

I've played crossfire since 2009 when it came out in NA, I'd say it was peaking 2010 - 2013 but it's still fun to go and play. A lot of the people who buy VIP are shit at the game anyway you can just buy an AWM and one shot them all

Also the game is p2w with the VIP guns but they made it so much easier to obtain GP now becase everyone gets like 200k gp for free and there's no more gun repairs. I think new accounts get AK/AWM for free now
